  2. Complimenting the Party AmbianceAfter a few minutes, you want to approach the host again or another guest and comment positively on the party's decor, music, or overall atmosphere.
  3. Meeting a New GuestYou find yourself standing near someone you don't know. Initiate a conversation, introduce yourself, and ask a casual ice-breaker question.
  4. Discussing the Food and DrinksWhile getting some refreshments, you engage in small talk with another guest about the delicious food or beverages available at the party.
  5. Asking About the Birthday PersonYou are talking to another guest who seems to know the birthday person well. You want to ask a light question about their connection or a fun fact about the birthday celebrant.
  6. Excusing Yourself from a ConversationYou've been talking to someone for a while and want to politely end the conversation to mingle with other guests or get more food/drinks.
